I took the boys off to see a old exstinct volcano yesterday. It was the perfect get out of the house break up the holiday cabin fever; especially for me. It was thirty minutes from home, the track a perfect kilometre long and the kids even learnt a couple of things along the way. I also found myself telling them stuff I knew and I loved how I had there attention even if it was for just a moment.
That one moment of attentive listening was awesome..then a bird moved..and it was gone. Like that.
There is just something about the prehistoric that kids love boys or girls. The kids were fossil hunting, crystal hunting and dinosaur sighting. It was awesome. My now big boy B1 was filming and documenting all the way for his best friend Mr L who he wished was able to come.
Me; was just on leech and Cassawory patrol.
The afternoon was perfect.
Check your local National Park website to see what’s close to hand for you.
