I baked with the boys over the weekend not something I do very often; crazy but we are trying to fill in the time before FIFO husband gets home. Cooking with the boys I generally leave that to FIFO husband. He loves it and I must say that cooking with children takes patience non of which I have ordinarily let alone given my current sleep deficit however I have learnt having all the ingredients laid out all ready to go makes it a lot less stress full. The cake we baked on the weekend was my one bowl special it tasted yum if I do say so myself (remarkable given the angst that went into it) and I thought I would make another one today for when husband is home..whenever that may be.
This time I will instead ice it kind of pretty; because I’m trying to impress husband with my domestic abilities, the cake from the weekend just had the icing slapped on in frustration. So wanting to be slightly more impressive I found some fantastic instruction on how to simply jazz up a cake because I don’t really have the time or ability for anything else over at Oh happy day. A blog by beautiful American girl with far to much talent for one person. Seriously a wonderful blog full of amazing inspiration.
If it turns out as remotely pretty as the one above I will photograph it but don’t hold your breath you may starve yourself of oxygen deprivation.
